It was a Saturday morning, fresh off of watching NBA Inside Stuff when Nikki made up her mind and broke the news to her mom that she wanted to be a sports broadcaster. It seemed obvious; if she ever wanted to meet her idol Michael Jordan this would be the best way to do it.
As host of NBA XL on NBA TV Canada/Raptors TV, Nikki's love of basketball was on full display every week. Respectfully irreverent, admittedly off the wall, and always up for a challenge, NBA XL was the perfect platform for Nikki to be, well, Nikki.
Simultaneously, in 2007, Nikki joined The Score and there was no stopping her. While reporting and producing Nikki also added anchor to her resume as co-anchor of Score In The Morning, a five-hour live show delivering sports news and highlights.
From Ballers to Brawlers
Fate would soon bring Nikki to Las Vegas, a city void of professional sports teams. Career suicide? Not for Nikki! As the consummate chameleon that she is, Nikki took advantage of being in the fight capital of the world and began reporting and producing for Top Rank Boxing, the country's premiere boxing promotional company. Interviewing the greatest boxer of this generation Manny Pacquiao was enough to convince Nikki's mom that she made the right career choice and not the nurse she wanted her to be.
In typical Nikki fashion not one to shy away from work, she also parlayed her passion for MMA by embracing the opportunity to be a correspondent for The Fight Network.
Having grown up in Toronto, Canada, where she got her start, Nikki's career has taken her across 3 countries and 2 continents interviewing some of the best athletes in the world including Michael Phelps, Wayne Gretzky, and yes, even Michael Jordan.
From high atop the Rocky Mountains in Whistler, British Columbia, the chaos and merriment of NBA All Star Weekend, to the bustling streets of Macau, this one-woman band knows no bounds when it comes to chasing a story.
And a life without boundaries is exactly how she likes to live!
